Ficus elastica ‘Tineke’ – Variegated Rubber Plant

Ficus elastica ‘Tineke’ stands out for its large, thick and glossy leaves irregularly variegated in shades of green and cream. New growth may also display delicate touches of pink. Its upright growth and luminous foliage give it a striking architectural presence indoors.

Light
Tineke prefers bright, indirect light. Its variegated foliage requires more light than darker Ficus elastica varieties. Good light helps maintain its contrasting colours, while intense direct sunlight can damage the lighter areas of its leaves.

Watering
Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, then water thoroughly and let excess water drain away. Avoid keeping the soil consistently wet.

Care
Use well-draining soil and protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden changes in conditions. Its large leaves can occasionally be wiped clean to remove dust.

Good to know
Like other Ficus elastica varieties, ‘Tineke’ contains an irritating milky sap and is not considered pet-safe if ingested.
