Haworthia – Succulents, Assorted Varieties

Haworthia encompasses small succulent plants prized for their compact rosettes and highly distinctive foliage. Depending on the varieties available, the leaves may be smooth, textured, striped, spotted or feature characteristic translucent areas.

Their generally slow growth and compact size make them excellent plants for small spaces and succulent collections.

Light
Provide bright indirect light. Haworthia generally tolerates more moderate light than many other succulents. Some gentle direct sunlight can be beneficial, but avoid prolonged exposure to intense direct sun.

Watering
Allow the soil to dry completely or almost completely between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow all excess moisture to drain away. Reduce watering frequency during periods of slower growth.

Care
Use a highly well-draining potting mix formulated for cacti and succulents. Avoid overwatering and prolonged moisture around the roots. Many varieties gradually produce offsets and may develop into small clusters over time.

Good to know
Foliage shape, texture and pattern vary according to the species, hybrids and varieties available. Some plants traditionally sold as Haworthia are now classified in closely related genera, including Haworthiopsis. Plants in this group are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
