Philodendron ‘Birkin’ – Variegated Philodendron
Philodendron ‘Birkin’ stands out for its dark green foliage marked with fine cream to white pinstripes. Each leaf develops a slightly different pattern, giving the plant an elegant and graphic appearance.
Its relatively compact, upright habit makes it an excellent choice for adding decorative foliage without requiring the space of a large climbing philodendron.
Light
Provide bright indirect light to encourage attractive variegation. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which may scorch the foliage.
Watering
Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering and standing water around the roots.
Care
Grow in an airy, well-draining potting mix. Rotate the pot regularly to encourage balanced growth and gently wipe the leaves when dust accumulates.
Good to know
The variegation of ‘Birkin’ can change from one leaf to another, and some growth may produce much greener leaves. Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept away from pets that may chew on it.
The decorative planter shown in the photos is not included. The plant is sold in its nursery pot.
