Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolor’ – Variegated Dragon Tree

Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolor’ is a tropical houseplant with a slender, architectural growth habit. Its long, narrow leaves combine shades of green and cream with fine red to pink margins. This bright variegation distinguishes it from the classic Dracaena marginata, which has much more uniformly green foliage.

As the plant matures, its stems become woody, highlighting the tufts of foliage that develop at their tips. Depending on how it is grown, it may also be available in a fuller, bushier form.

Light
Provide bright indirect light to encourage balanced growth and maintain well-defined variegation. It can tolerate medium light, although its colours may become less pronounced. Avoid intense direct sunlight.

Watering
Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, then water thoroughly and let excess moisture drain away. Avoid keeping the soil consistently wet.

Care
Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolor’ appreciates an airy, well-draining potting mix and relatively stable temperatures. Rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth and wipe its long leaves as needed to prevent dust buildup.

Good to know
‘Bicolor’ is a Dracaena marginata cultivar valued for its variegated foliage. Colour intensity may vary slightly depending on light and growing conditions. Like other Dracaena, it is toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.

The decorative planter shown in the photos is not included. The plant is sold in its nursery pot.
